THE MARKETER’S EDIT
YOU'VE BUILT A BUSINESS. NOW WHAT?
One day for marketers, freelancers, and creative business owners to step away from the day-to-day, rethink what growth looks like for them, and build their 2027 business plan alongside people who get it.
November 7 • Williamsburg, Brooklyn
$249 or 3 payments of $99
What You'll Walk Away With:
-
Step away from the day-to-day and get clear on what you actually want to build next. You’ll work through guided exercises to identify what’s working, what needs to change, and your priorities and next moves for 2027.
-
Learn from creators, freelancers, and business owners who are actively doing the work. You’ll hear practical perspectives on pricing, content, community, hiring, revenue, agency growth, and building a business that works for you.
-
Meet a small group of freelancers, creators, agency owners, and independent business owners who understand this kind of work. Make new friends, collaborators, referral partners, and people you can keep in your corner long after Brooklyn.
-
You won’t leave empty-handed. Attendees will receive goodies from Metricool, Curious Elixirs, Flodesk, and more, plus an advance reader copy of Latasha James’ upcoming book, before it’s available to the public. 👀
-
Professional photos, Brooklyn, karaoke, vision boards, friendship bracelets, bites, mocktails, and plenty of moments worth documenting. Come for the business planning; leave with a camera roll full of proof that business events can actually be fun.
The Agenda
Building in Private: Growing a Scalable Agency Without Burning Out
— with Madeline Eddi
The messy middle nobody posts about: too big for beginner advice, too small for the corporate playbook. Maddie's opening up the exact decisions — and near-misses — that got her to multi-six-figures with no map to follow.
The Room Is the Strategy: Turning In-Person Belonging Into Referrals and Recurring Revenue — with Desiree Martinez
You build audiences for your clients all day, then go home and chase the algorithm for your own business. Desiree's showing you the growth lever you've been overlooking — and it doesn't cost a dollar.
The Price You Can Hold: Somatics, Worth, and Freelance Pricing Decisions
— with Biola Jeje
You know your rate. You still find a way to talk yourself out of it. This is the somatic workshop for anyone tired of discounting their way out of feeling seen.
Built to Hold the Vision - The Founder Freedom Plan for Building Your Agency Intentionally — with Zhara Henry
If you've ever thought "I didn't start this to become someone's boss," this is the session that untangles what your business actually needs from you — and builds the plan to get you out from under it.
You Can't Hire Your Way out of Chaos
— with Diego Bonilla
Before you hire your way into more chaos and more payroll, Diego lays out the three fixes that actually work — the ones that took his team from 30 to 150 pieces of content a month without adding a single headache.
Building Where You Belong: Strengthening Relationships to Grow a Sustainable Business
— with Samantha Washington
What if the algorithm was never the answer — the room was? Sam makes the case that the referrals and repeat clients you're chasing online are one real relationship away.
Posts to Profits: Short-Form Video Is Not Luck
— with Caitlyn Grad
Bring your best post and your biggest flop. By the end of this session you'll know exactly why one worked and the other didn't — and you'll never have to guess again.
The only thing missing from the agenda? You.

The Agenda
-
If you're a marketing freelancer or agency owner who's past beginner advice, but not quite ready for the corporate playbook, welcome to the "messy middle." This session pulls back the curtain on what scaling actually looks like behind closed doors, so you can get closer to exactly where you want to be. Madeline Eddi is sharing the real, unglamorous frameworks that grew her own multi-six-figure agency. She will walk through the pricing, hiring, and growth decisions that don't have easy answers, and how to navigate them without burning out.
-
Freelance marketers build audiences for clients all day, then grow their own business by chasing the next post, referral, or algorithm update. The overlooked growth lever is the room. Drawing on her book Stop Marketing, Start Belonging, Desiree Martinez shows how to turn belonging-driven events into referrals and recurring revenue, whether the room holds 40,000 or twelve. No ad budget required. You'll leave with one experience you can design and run this month.
-
You can know your rate and still struggle to say it out loud. You can understand your value and still discount the proposal.
You can have years of experience, a strong body of work, and plenty of proof that you’re good at what you do, and still find yourself over-explaining, padding the scope, accepting less than you wanted, or talking yourself out of the number you originally chose.
Pricing isn’t just a strategy decision. It’s a moment where worth, visibility, money, rejection, and belonging all show up uninvited.
Hosted by Biola Jeje, The Price You Can Hold is an interactive somatic workshop for freelancers ready to get curious about the embodied patterns shaping their pricing decisions. Together, we’ll look at what happens beneath the surface when it’s time to name a number, and how undercharging, discounting, over-delivering, or shrinking can become automatic responses instead of conscious choices.
-
You didn’t start your agency just to create another job for yourself.
There’s a bigger vision for what you want to build, but eventually, that vision requires more than your individual capacity to carry it.
In this session, Zhara introduces the Founder Freedom Plan, a practical framework for intentionally building an agency that can grow beyond you , with a specific exit in mind that's designed for you , without losing the vision that made you start it in the first place.
You’ll work through four foundational shifts in leadership, systems, hiring, and delegation, starting with the role you want to have as the founder and working backward to determine what the business needs from you, your systems, and your team.
You’ll leave with your own personal founder freedom plan , and a clearer picture of what you’re actually building, the role you want to play in it, and a practical roadmap for what you need to lead, systemize, hire, and delegate next.
-
More people on payroll will not fix a system that does not work. This session covers the three things that do: locking in your offer, dialing in your operating system, and building a team structure around clear roles.
I will walk through how getting those three right took us from 30 to 150 pieces of content a month, and what nearly breaking at 12 people taught us along the way.
-
What if community is the key to building a business that stands the test of time? In this interactive workshop hosted by Samantha Washington, we will explore how investing in deeper relationships and community can strengthen your business, build trust, and unlock opportunities beyond traditional marketing. Attendees will leave with actionable steps to cultivate the relationships that fuel long-term growth.

Most brands still follow an outdated playbook in a video-first world. Static content can maintain a presence, but it can't grow one. Short-form video is a skill, an art, and like any skill, it can be learned once you know what to look for.
Caitlyn Grad will start with the fundamentals: why short-form video needs to be a priority right now, and the foundational basics of what makes it work. Then we get straight into workshopping.
We'll close by putting it all together: how to take what we found and actually apply it to your own content or your clients' content going forward.
Short-form video isn't luck. It's pattern recognition. Let's find the patterns together!

About
The Marketer’s Edit
We created The Marketer’s Edit because running a creative business can be isolating.
The Marketer’s Edit is a chance to step away from your usual routine, learn from people building businesses of their own, work through the questions you’ve been putting off, and spend time with other people who understand this kind of work.
And because we believe some of the best ideas and relationships happen between the sessions, we’ve built plenty of fun into the day, too.
