There is no monetary fee for speaking at The Marketer's Edit. As consideration, you will receive complimentary full weekend access to the event (November 7–8, 2026), including all sessions and programming. This does not include a plus-one or guest pass. Travel, accommodation, and any other expenses incurred in connection with your participation are solely your responsibility and will not be reimbursed by the organizer.
4. Content & No-Pitch Policy
The Marketer's Edit is an educational event, not a sales platform. Your session must be substantive and educational in nature and may not serve primarily as a promotion for your own products, services, or business.
You confirm that you own or have obtained all necessary rights and permissions for any materials used during your session.
5. Recording & Media Rights
You grant The Marketer's Edit the right to record, stream, transcribe, photograph, edit, display, and distribute your session and likeness, in whole or in part, in all forms and media, now known or later developed. This includes but is not limited to:
Post-event replay access for participants
Distribution to ticket holders who were unable to attend
Publication on YouTube or similar platforms
Excerpts and clips used on social media and promotional channels
Future content hubs, podcasts, or educational resources related to The Marketer's Edit
You waive any claims arising from such use. We will not modify or alter the substantive content of your presentation. You retain ownership of your intellectual property and presentation content.
You also consent to The Marketer's Edit sharing your slides (in PDF format) and repurposing content from session recordings for educational and promotional purposes. (what do you think? Is this necessary @Latasha)
6. Your Own Content & Social Media
You are encouraged to share your participation on your own channels. You may post photos, quotes, short clips, and behind-the-scenes content freely and without prior approval. Please tag @themarketersedit when sharing event-related content.
If you record your own session, you agree not to publish a full recording until 3 months after the event date. Excerpts and short clips are permitted at any time.
7. Independent Contractor
You are participating as an independent contractor, not as an employee or agent of The Marketer's Edit. You are solely responsible for any applicable taxes.
8. Cancellation
60 or more days before the event: You may withdraw without liability. Your complimentary ticket access is forfeited.
Within 60 days of the event: You agree to make reasonable efforts to support continuity — suggesting a replacement, providing session materials, or recording your presentation. Your complimentary ticket access is forfeited.
Within 14 days of the event: As above, plus you agree to cooperate promptly with any requests to minimize disruption to the program.
Cancellation by the organizer: The Marketer's Edit reserves the right to cancel the event or a speaker's appearance at any time without liability. (@Latasha do we set a timeframe where we decide if / if not the event will happen?)
9. Force Majeure
If the event cannot go ahead due to circumstances beyond either party's reasonable control — including but not limited to natural disasters, public health emergencies, venue failure, or government restrictions — both parties are relieved of their obligations under this agreement. In such cases, no compensation or reimbursement will be owed by either party.
10. Indemnification
You are responsible for any problems, claims, or costs that arise from your participation or from content you present. If a third party makes a claim against The Marketer's Edit because of something you did or presented, you agree to handle it at your own cost.
This does not apply if the problem was caused by The Marketer's Edit.
11. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New York.
